Patients throughout Oklahoma gain convenient access to the latest radiation therapies

Oklahoma City, Okla. (Oct. 20, 2014) – Optim Oncology, a practice in The US Oncology Network and a leader in providing quality oncology care throughout the greater Oklahoma City area, announced today it has expanded its practice to include two additional locations, through the acquisition of Artesian Cancer Centers. The two facilities are located in Northwest Oklahoma City and Moore, Okla. and currently offer state-of-the-art radiation therapies.

“We are excited to expand our practice so we can reach more patients who are in need of our quality care services,” said Christopher Bozarth, M.D., practice president and radiation oncologist, Optim Oncology. “Our goal when we joined The US Oncology Network was to grow our practice while enhancing the high-quality and comprehensive care we offer to patients in a convenient community-based setting. The acquisition of the Artesian Cancer Centers is the first step in our pursuit of that goal.”

Patients receiving treatment at the two new Optim Oncology locations have access to the latest technology in radiation therapy. This includes the TomoTherapy Hi-Art System, which delivers helical (continuous 360 degrees) radiation. This innovative technology uses tens of thousands of narrow beamlets, all targeting the tumor, translating to one of the most precise radiotherapies available today.

Optim Oncology, along with Urology Centers of Oklahoma, is a division of Oklahoma Multispecialty Group. Together, they have 20 physicians, including 13 urologists, one uropathologist, three radiation oncologists and three medical oncologists. With the additional locations in Moore and Oklahoma City, the physicians now practice from 16 primary locations plus five satellite offices located throughout Oklahoma. This includes four radiation facilities.

The practice offers integrated medical and radiation oncology services under one roof, providing patients the potential of better outcomes and a better overall experience.
