Disease Management and Telehealth |

McKesson provides disease management programs for commercial, Medicaid and Medicare populations in which we leverage our experience with patient services, pharmacy management and health care quality improvement activities. As federal and state governments consider new ways to improve the quality and delivery of health care to populations with chronic illnesses, McKesson believes that greater utilization of disease management programs is key to solving 21st century health care problems. Disease management programs, which reach patients by telephone, in-person nurse visits and through technology, are vital to enhancing care outcomes for the elderly and vulnerable populations while concurrently reducing the cost of care. In states where we provide disease management services to Medicaid patients, physician and patient satisfaction has improved along with health outcomes. We estimate these states are saving approximately two dollars for every dollar spent with McKesson. From distributing pharmaceuticals in emergencies to providing cutting-edge health care IT, McKesson works to educate elected officials and regulators about the unique efficiencies and solutions that we offer. We aim to meet policy concerns as they arise, at the federal, state and local levels, and to provide expertise, solutions and innovations year in and year out. |
