McKesson Foundation

Founded in 1943, the McKesson Foundation is dedicated to supporting our employees' community involvement efforts and improving the health of patients through improved healthcare quality, personal health management, and lower healthcare costs.

Our current focus area is cancer, with a specific emphasis on organizations that provide non-medical direct services to low-income cancer patients in the U.S.

• Founded in 2012, the Foundation‘s Giving Comfort program provides low-income cancer patients with the most needed and requested items to provide comfort and relief during chemotherapy treatment. Giving Comfort works with national distribution partners that include the American Cancer Society, major hospitals and grassroots NGOs. • Through the Mobilizing for Health grant program, the Foundation funds pilot research projects and ongoing studies focused on mobile phone-based interventions for low-income patients with chronic diseases, with a priority interest in cancer management. Each year the McKesson Foundation contributes more than $5 million to nonprofit organizations working to improve the health of our communities. Over the past three years, the Foundation has matched more than $2.4 million in employee donations to charitable organizations. 

Note to prospective grantees: Please note that to maximize resources and further our impact, we do not accept unsolicited grant proposals.  If you feel that your organization is a perfect fit for our priority funding area (non-medical direct services to low-income cancer patients), you may send no more than one page describing your organization and funding needs to mckessonfoundation@mckesson.com. We will keep your submission on file and will notify you solely if we wish to obtain additional information or identify an opportunity for potential funding.
