As the nation honors our veterans this Nov. 11, McKesson would like to thank the 25 million veterans—including McKesson employees—who have served our country. We are also grateful for our partnerships with our veteran-owned and disabled veteran-owned suppliers and are committed to expanding opportunities for veteran-owned businesses. To show our commitment to veterans, McKesson supports and works with the veteran community and suppliers in a number of ways: - McKesson participates in several national veterans meetings each year, including the Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) Alliance’s annual Keeping the Promise Exposition, the Veterans Affairs Summit and the Department of Veterans Affairs Federal Healthcare Conference.
- In 2009, McKesson, in partnership with the Association of Disabled Veterans, will sponsor the McKesson Veterans’ Forum in San Francisco to help companies identify successful veteran-owned and disabled veteran-owned businesses that provide the goods and services they need. Information on this event is available at: www.asdv.org.
- McKesson also supports veterans through its pharmaceutical distribution contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs. In fact, McKesson is the largest vendor for the Department of Veterans Affairs, supplying pharmaceuticals to all of its medical centers and outpatient clinics, as well as its Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacies (CMOPs) since 2004.
- New to our diverse supplier family, McKesson is proud to welcome Promotional Considerations, a veteran-owned business based in Richmond, Va. Promotional Considerations was founded in 1984 and was purchased by Vanguard Industries.
Veteran-owned businesses interested in learning more about working with McKesson should visit the Supplier Diversity page or call the Supplier Diversity Team at 415.983.7170.
