Name: Connie As a public relations coordinator for McKesson Provider Technologies, Connie’s job focuses on writing, press releases and media relations. She sees McKesson as “a big company that feels smaller with each day I work here—although it’s still a little intimidating because the learning curve is straight up!” Connie chose a career in the healthcare industry because “it’s an industry that’s a very smart choice right now—not only is it a growing and successful business, it’s a concept I can put my full support behind and feel great about the positive things our company is doing for healthcare.” Connie sees her mission as helping patients choose medical care based on which hospitals and doctor’s offices are utilizing technology to provide better care. “Everything comes back to what’s best for our customers and—ultimately—the patients they serve.” Connie feels that her team members “take an active interest in the advancement of my career here.” She meets once or twice a month with her mentor, a component of the college hiring program at McKesson Provider Technologies. Since her mentor works in a different department, she offers a different perspective and has helped educate Connie about our diverse businesses. In the future, Connie wants to continue her work in communications at McKesson and take advantage of our “endless opportunities for growth.” |
