Eric's Profile

Eric's photo Name: Eric
Education: Purdue University
Starting Title: OMD Program Associate
Current Title: Regional Industrial Engineer
Business Unit: U.S. Pharmaceutical Distribution

Eric describes McKesson to his family and friends as “the greatest healthcare company with some of the best people I have ever met.” His enthusiasm about our company is infectious—he strives to live our ICARE Shared Principles every day, working to help customers and coworkers succeed.

Eric began in the Operations Management Development Program (OMDP) after completing his industrial distribution studies. He worked on a Six Sigma Greenbelt project to optimize the replenishment process. While in the program, he got the opportunity to have dinner with our CEO, John Hammergren, along with other members of the management team. “If anyone thinks that working for a large company like McKesson feels cold and heartless, they’re wrong. Having dinner with the CEO and other senior managers who really listened to what I had to say proves that big companies don’t have to treat their employees like a number.”

After completing the program, Eric worked for two years as a night shift supervisor. He then moved to the redistribution center, where he collaborated with the region’s VP of distribution operations on the implementation of engineered standards in four different distribution centers. “It really didn’t seem like work because each day was fun and challenging and it was great to see the rewards that come to employees who work hard,” he says.

That project led to his current role as regional industrial engineer, in which he researches problems and works with supervisors to resolve system issues. “The best part is that everyone I work with understands our Customer-First focus and is driven to satisfy our customers’ needs.”
