McKesson Operations Management Development Program

Operations Management Development Program

The Operations Management Development Program (OMDP) within McKesson Pharmaceutical allows new college graduates to obtain a breadth of experience in distribution operations while building interpersonal and team skills through a well planned nine-month rotational training program and individually designed professional development plan.

OMDP Rotational Assignments
After a thorough orientation, participants of the OMDP begin a functional and cross-functional rotational  training program in the following core areas:

Distribution Center Rotations: Cross Functional Rotations:
  • Warehouse
  • Computer Room
  • Inventory
  • Regulatory and Security
  • Human Resources
  • Introduction to supervisory skills
  • Retail Sales
  • Health Systems Sales
  • Inventory Accounting
  • Customer Care
  • Regional Finance

After successfully completing the rotational training program, participants will interview for open entry-level supervisor positions across the United States within the Pharmaceutical Group’s distribution center network.  Relocation within the U.S. should be expected upon successful completion of the training but we will work with you to make the transition as easy as possible.

Personal and Professional Development Plan for OMDP Associates
A development plan is created for each OMDP Associate over the course of the program.  This individual development plan is intended to balance the needs of the individual along with successful achievement of their training rotations and preparation for broader roles within the business.  Through a combination of on-the-job training, e-Learning opportunities, and instructor-led sessions, OMDP participants will be exposed to the following program curriculum:
