With Horizon MedComm-Rx management software, hospitals improve turnaround time, eliminate lost medication orders, and increase patient safety by virtually eliminating transcription errors. The system digitizes paper-based medication orders and creates an electronic workflow. Nurses fax or scan paper orders directly into pharmacy's electronic work queue. The digitized orders automatically are associated with the patient profile in the pharmacy information system, and can be prioritized, processed, tracked, returned to caregivers for clarification, and audited. The system also offers enhanced archiving capabilities*, providing greater control over the hospital’s archived data.

The Horizon MedComm-Rx solution is the only order communication system that alerts the pharmacy in real-time of AcuDose-Rx® unit-based cabinet overrides. It also alerts the pharmacy to orders that must be addressed immediately by identifying STAT orders and late orders at the pharmacy workstation.
