Outpatient Care

After his discharge, the patient receives a call at home from McKesson’s nursing call center. A McKesson nurse has been assigned to track the patient’s recovery and answer any questions he may have using McKesson’s proprietary clinical reference system. The service is paid for by the patient’s insurance company because such follow-up care has been shown to speed recovery times and reduce the number of hospital re-admissions caused by complications from the surgery.
