Dr. Emad Rizk to Sign New Book at AHIP Institute 2009

Taking place from June 3-5 at the San Diego Convention Center, this year’s Institute will highlight healthcare reform progress already made and address what comes next. Thousands of healthcare leaders will come together to discuss solutions for affordable, accessible and quality healthcare for all Americans as well as the day-to-day steps necessary to make healthcare reform a reality.

“AHIP Institute 2009 is a prestigious event and an ideal venue to share my book with the hundreds of payor and other healthcare organizations that will be represented there,” said Rizk. “With reform on everyone’s mind, it is vital that we don’t lose focus on the two groups that have some of the biggest impact on healthcare: payors and providers. Effective and sustainable reform must start with the alignment of these stakeholders who have been at odds with each other for years.”

For over 25 years, Rizk has been sharing his transformational strategies and operational and healthcare information technology expertise with payors, physicians, hospital systems and pharmaceutical organizations. Dr. Rizk is a recognized leader in healthcare, being named, for the second consecutive year, as one of “ 50 Most Powerful Physician Executives ” in the U.S. by Modern Physician — ranked at number six on the 2009 list. Rizk was named as one of the nation’s “ Top 25 Leaders in Disease Management ” by Managed Healthcare Executive in 2008 . Dr. Rizk serves on boards of numerous healthcare organizations including the National Quality Review, DMAA: The Care Continuum Alliance, and the National Alliance for Hispanic Health; and is a Senior Scholar Professor at Jefferson Medical College.
