MALVERN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Health Alliance Plan (HAP) recently began using McKesson’s Contract Symphony™, a suite of collaborative contract risk management tools, to standardize, automate and streamline its hospital provider contracting process. The software improves the contracting experience for the plan’s providers by increasing the transparency of reimbursement terms and enhancing the efficiency of the contracting process. “For almost ten years we’ve contracted with McKesson for products to improve the way we work with our provider network and 530,000 members. Now we’ve taken the next step by implementing Contract Symphony,” said Laura Eory, vice president of provider development for Detroit-based HAP. “We went into live production in less than four months, and look forward to the positive effects the solution will have on our administrative efforts, sign-off turn around times, accuracy of reimbursement configurations, and the time it takes us to maintain reports across contracts.” Building on 20 years of expertise in claims performance, McKesson developed Contract Symphony as a highly automated tool to solve the often uncoordinated and non-accountable contracting processes. Today, incredible challenges face professionals creating, managing and interpreting provider network contracts due to the diverse and complex requirements of both providers and health plans. Contract Symphony gives network managers the ability to set accurate expectations in their negotiations with providers through an internal feedback and approval process that expedites understanding and interpretation. HAP implemented Contract Symphony to assist them in making accurate payments to hospital providers and increase the internal and external transparency of the contracting process.
