Family Health Network Cites Service and InterQual Integration as Key Factors in Decision to License CCMS McKesson announced today that Family Health Network (FHN) of Chicago, Ill., is the latest to join the growing roster of customers for McKesson’s CareEnhance® Clinical Management Software (CCMS ™ ). Recently, five new customers have contracted and additionally six customers have ‘gone live’ on this care management workflow solution to improve decisions on where to focus their resources, and better coordinate care and communication. FHN is the only non-profit organization providing healthcare to the participants of the many programs under the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services. The health plan was looking for a cost-effective way to meet state requirements for URAC certified software to report its case management findings. FHN was impressed with the CCMS suite and its ability to streamline and automate case, disease and utilization management workflows. The plan appreciated the fact that CCMS seamlessly integrates with the browser-based delivery software for McKesson’s InterQual ® Criteria, which FHN also licensed to better align with hospitals already using the evidence-based decision support solution. “We began talks with McKesson when we realized that outsourcing would be too costly a solution for addressing our state’s reporting requirements,” said Karen Osuch, vice president of medical management at FHN. “What really cemented the agreement for us, beyond the cost-effective software and integration with InterQual, was the high level of attention and service we received right from the start — the multiple site visits and in-person demonstrations helped build our confidence in the product and in McKesson.” The CCMS suite enables healthcare payors to deliver care management that drives the right care at the right time for improved outcomes while optimizing their resources. The integrity of CCMS’ clinical content helps health plans make decisions that are based on clinical evidence, align with case and disease management practices, and meet accreditation and regulatory standards. More than 70 organizations covering over 21 million lives nationally use CCMS. “We have seen great market momentum with CCMS, signing five new clients and having six clients go live in the last six months,” said Rose Higgins, vice president of care management solutions, McKesson Health Solutions. “We welcome these new customers and look forward to building the foundation of long-term partnerships with each of them.” About McKesson McKesson Corporation, currently ranked 14th on the FORTUNE 500, is a healthcare services and information technology company dedicated to helping its customers deliver high-quality healthcare by reducing costs, streamlining processes, and improving the quality and safety of patient care.
