June 30, 2010

Online Tool for Improving Quality and Consistency of Clinical Decision-Making Rounds out Level of Care Testing Set and Adds More Reporting Functionality

McKesson’s 2010 release of its InterQual ® Interrater Reliability (IRR) Suite introduces the Outpatient Rehabilitation & Chiropractic test and expands reporting options that make it easier for test administrators to interpret test results. The IRR Suite of standardized tests enables healthcare organizations to ensure consistency from reviewer to reviewer and enhance the quality of clinical decision-making to achieve maximum value from InterQual Criteria .

The 2010 IRR Suite introduces the Outpatient Rehabilitation & Chiropractic test, completing the set of tests for InterQual level of care criteria. This year’s annual release also incorporates new reporting functionality. In addition to viewing test scores, organizations’ IRR administrators can now quickly and easily see who has passed and who has failed a test. Organizations also have more options in terms of which reports they can run for individual test-takers or groups to meet their analysis needs. And for the first time, large organizations with more than one testing group can run reports across groups to get a clear, comparative view of all users.

“We are pleased to provide our customers with the ability to assess the use of all of our level of care criteria, and more reporting configurations so they can get the information they need faster,” said Rose Higgins, vice president of care management solutions for McKesson Health Solutions. “We went a step further by moving testing for two of our other certification programs ? Certified Professional in Healthcare Management (CPHM) and InterQual ® Certified Instructor ? to the same electronic system as IRR testing, making it even more convenient and consistent for our clients.”

The customizable IRR tests measure how well and how reliably staff are applying InterQual Criteria. IRR test results help organizations pinpoint opportunities for improvement to ensure a continued return on investment from InterQual products. Hosted by McKesson, the online IRR tests are available anytime, anywhere for the convenience of users.
