McKesson Announces Expanded Pay-for-Performance Features for Leading Analytics and Reporting Software; HEDIS Reporting Tool Receives NCQA Certification for Sixth Year
March 22, 2006

NEWTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 22, 2006--McKesson Corporation (NYSE:MCK), the world's leading healthcare services company and largest provider of HEDIS(R) reporting solutions, today announced key enhancements to its CareEnhance(R) Resource Management Software (CRMS(TM)) product suite with the release of Version 5.6.1, making the industry's most complete pay-for-performance analysis tool even easier to use. The HEDIS reporting tool within the CRMS suite was also certified by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for the sixth consecutive year.

The latest CRMS enhancements make the industry's most complete P4P analysis tool even easier to use for health plans that want to deploy pay-for-performance programs, which are growing exponentially. The 5.6.1 release features expanded reporting capabilities that support large volumes of data so P4P program implementers can access the right data quickly, assess results and deliver it to constituents. Also, provider practice administrators can now review results of all participating providers' performance in one central location, streamlining the process for gauging how providers are tracking against key goals.

"Many of our customers are pursuing pay-for-performance strategies and they need more robust reporting mechanisms and credible performance criteria to successfully implement these programs," said Nadine Hays, vice president of product management and marketing for McKesson Health Solutions. "The new capabilities in CRMS make it easier for our clients to evaluate program performance and deliver key information to participating provider practices via the Web."

CareEnhance(R) HealthPlan Reporter(TM), the CRMS HEDIS reporting tool, also underwent NCQA's rigorous testing procedure and received one hundred percent certification for HEDIS 2006 with all measures passed. NCQA requires annual recertification of software products to ensure their compliance with updated HEDIS specifications. Its voluntary HEDIS Software Certification(SM) program provides an automated alternative to manual inspection of source code by an auditor.

Over 70 organizations use CRMS to meet their healthcare reporting and analysis needs -- more than any other vendor offering similar solutions -- and about 90% of these organizations use the tool to submit HEDIS results to NCQA or quality results to state agencies.
