NEWTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- McKesson Corporation, the world’s leading healthcare services company, added seven care management software companies to its InterQual Alliance Partner Program in the last half of 2006. Now in its 11th year, the InterQual Alliance Partner Program enables McKesson and its Alliance Partners to offer healthcare organizations streamlined access to InterQual Criteria, the industry’s gold standard in evidence-based clinical decision support tools. As part of the program, Alliance Partners participate in an annual validation process to confirm that CareEnhance® Review Manager, McKesson’s browser-based software providing access to InterQual Criteria, operates and renders content properly through the customized integration they have built into their workflow applications. Seventeen companies are currently validated; the new program participants are expected to become validated this year. “We expect the InterQual Alliance Partner Program to continue its strong growth, driven by healthcare organizations seeking the benefits of tight connectivity between their workflow tools and the evidence-based clinical content that fuels sound care management decisions,” said A. Jacqueline Mitus, M.D., senior vice president of product strategy and operations at the McKesson Health Solutions business unit. “With InterQual Criteria readily available from within more applications than any similar industry tool, healthcare organizations have an incredibly broad range of options for optimizing the efficiency and outcomes of their care management programs.” Organizations that recently joined the Alliance Partner Program include: CaseNET, Inc.; CH Mack, Inc.; Click4Care, Inc.; HealthTrio, Inc. and ZeOmega, LLC. More than 4,000 health plans, hospitals, academic medical centers, government agencies and care management organizations currently use McKesson’s InterQual tools, the industry standard in evidence-based clinical decision support. InterQual content is unmatched in clinical integrity, helping to ensure appropriateness of care and increasing confidence in clinical decision-making. As the most widely used evidence-based clinical criteria, InterQual facilitates alignment between providers and payors in care management decisions and payment.
