McKesson Health Solutions Visionaries to Speak at 18th Annual National Managed Health Care Congress; Drs. Emad Rizk and Ricardo Guggenheim Will Share Insights on Proactive Medical Management and Optimal Disease Management Program Design

Emad Rizk, M.D., president of McKesson Health Solutions, will be a featured panelist at the keynote discussion on April 25, titled "Transitioning from a Reactive to a Proactive Medical Management Paradigm: What Will 'Managing Care' Mean in 2010?" Dr. Rizk, a noted author, speaker and authority on healthcare transformation and effectiveness, has helped many organizations to improve their healthcare delivery, cost management and outcomes. He will join fellow panelists in discussing the reinvigoration of managed care through more proactive medical management, including changing roles, infrastructure needs and aligned incentives. The panel will be moderated by author and futurist Ian Morrison, Ph.D., and include senior executives from Horizon Healthcare, New York Presbyterian Healthcare System and AstraZeneca.

Also on April 25, Ricardo Guggenheim, M.D., vice president of clinical content and design at McKesson Health Solutions, will join Robert B. Baker, M.D., MMM, vice president of medical affairs and New Jersey medical director for Unison Health Plan, which specializes in government-sponsored health programs, in a talk titled, "Implementing an Effective Disease Management Program That Improves Outcomes and Quality of Life." The two will share best practices in managing the care of individuals with complex or costly conditions, including how to ensure the utmost clinical rigor from identification to intervention and how best to integrate utilization case and disease management for optimal outcomes.
