October 13, 2006

BROOMFIELD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--McKesson Health Solutions, a unit of McKesson Corporation, today announced that the companys United States and Puerto Rico call centers again received accreditation from URAC, a Washington, DC-based accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the healthcare industry.

McKesson Health Solutions received Health Call Center Accreditation, which covers the companys nurse call centers in Colorado, Illinois and Puerto Rico.

McKessons longstanding commitment to provide high quality healthcare through the companys patented algorithms and nurse-guided care is confirmed by URACs accreditation of our nurse call centers, said RoJean Stiffler, director of Risk Management and Regulatory Affairs, McKesson Health Solutions.

McKesson was the first nurse triage services provider in the United States to receive URAC Health Call Center Accreditation in 1998. The company also participated as a beta site to help URAC establish its core standards for health call center accreditation.

McKesson Health Solutions should be commended for meeting strict quality standards, said Charles Stellar, URAC Board chair. It is critically important for health care organizations to make a commitment to quality and accountability. URAC accreditation is a demonstration of that commitment.

As part of URACs Health Call Center Accreditation program, the organization inspects a companys records to ensure that registered nurses, physicians and other licensed individuals perform all clinical triage and health information functions.
