PharmacyRx Sets Record Transaction Volume for MPS
April 11, 2007

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--McKesson Pharmacy Systems (MPS), a business unit of McKesson Corporation, today announced that it reached an all time high PharmacyRx® transaction volume in January of this year, collectively logging more than 2 million prescription claims transactions in a single month, not inclusive of transactions associated with claims editing, reversals and rejections. This new transaction record demonstrates the strong customer dependency on PharmacyRx and the overall success of the solution, which now supports more than 600 stores.

PharmacyRx uses an Application Service Provider (ASP) model. The ASP or "software as a service" model is becoming more common in all areas of business computing. This model helps make PharmacyRx an affordable yet robust pharmacy management system designed to maximize pharmacy productivity including all prescription and claim processing activities with a simple and efficient graphical user interface (GUI). PharmacyRx is now on version 2.6, which was made Generally Available in February and is currently being rolled out to all existing and new customers. The new version includes a redesigned GUI for greater operational efficiency, additional data exports for more custom reporting, and additional interfaces for superior interoperability.

"PharmacyRx helps pharmacies stay profitable despite greater margin pressures with reduced reimbursements coming from Medicare Part D and Medicaid payers," says Brian Morris, Senior Product Manager of PharmacyRx.
