2007 Judges

Keith Van Camp is vice president of Information Services for St. Dominic–Jackson Memorial Hospital, Jackson, Miss.  With more than 10 years experience in this position, he is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of all information technology within the organization. His leadership in the hospital’s IT initiatives have resulted in two “100 Most Wired” awards for St. Dominic’s and an “Outstanding IT Achievement Award.”  Keith began his career in healthcare with IBM Corporation, where he worked with hospital senior executives and information systems management to enhance operational effectiveness, improve productivity and reduce cost. Van Camp’s professional memberships include HealthCare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS), College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), National Association of Access Managers and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). 

2007 Judges

Kent L. Gale is founder, managing partner and executive director of KLAS Enterprises, LLC, in Orem, Utah. Gale formed KLAS Enterprises in 1996 to improve the delivery of healthcare information technology (HIT) software and services by measuring the performance of healthcare software suppliers. He recruits IT executives and healthcare professionals to gather HIT vendor performance data from provider organizations and offers reports and consulting services based upon the research data. Prior to founding KLAS, Gale held various leadership positions within vendor and provider healthcare IT organizations in the United States and abroad. He was most recently honored with the 2006 Lifetime Achievement award from CHIME and credits much of this accomplishment to his colleagues at KLAS.

2007 Judges

Deborah Gash is vice president and chief information officer for Kansas City, Mo.-based Saint Luke’s Health System, a 2006 VIP Award winner. With more than 17 years experience in the healthcare industry, Gash is responsible for developing and implementing information technology strategies for the health system. Her role includes: updating the necessary standards, infrastructure, and security policies to protect the information assets of the health system; ensuring quality IT support for the health system; and providing guidance for cost-effective clinical and business solutions. She is the current president of the HIMSS Heart of America Chapter and McKesson’s customer user group organization, InSight.  She’s an active member of ACHE, CHIME, HIMSS national, and the American College of Medical Practice Executives. Gash also participates in the McKesson Technical Advisory Committee, the KC IT Leadership Exchange, and CIOC of CHIME. She is also a Certified Professional in Health Information Management Systems and a Certified Medical Practice Executive.

Lewis Redd

Lewis Redd is the leader for Accenture's Health and Life Sciences Provider practice. He is responsible for all business development and service delivery to Accenture's North American provider clients. He has more than 25 years of healthcare consulting experience, with a specialty in technology-enabled performance improvement. Redd's experience covers the industry segment of health providers and payors, as well as medical device and pharmaceutical companies. His experience with particular solutions covers strategic direction setting, performance improvement, systems integration and outsourcing.

Alden Solovy is executive editor of Hospitals & Health Networks (H&HN) and associate publisher for Health Forum, including H&HN's Most Wired Magazine and Trustee. He is also a widely published author and a frequent speaker on the evolution of the healthcare economy and on the nation’s Most Wired health systems. He has written four books, and edited two others, on healthcare finance and strategy. Prior to joining H&HN, Solovy served as director of market and business analysis for Premier, Inc., and as a consultant in capital finance for Health Facilities Corp., where he specialized in capital planning and debt transactions.
