ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--McKesson Corporation, the world’s leading healthcare services company, today announced its Practice Partner® suite of fully integrated electronic health record (EHR) and practice management applications received top rankings for the fourth consecutive year in the AC Group 2007 Practice Management System (PMS) and EHR Vendor Functionality and Company Rating Report. Practice Partner software received a 5-Star rating (the highest rating) and top honors in the Multi-Specialty EHR and EHR categories. Additionally, the application was top-rated for both Small Practices (3-9 physicians) and Mid Size Practices (10-99 physicians) and received the highest overall company and total rating for Individual Physicians (1-2 physicians). The AC Group report is an extensive evaluation based on responses to more than 5,000 questions. The AC Group quantifies six components to determine vendor ratings: product functionality, end-user satisfaction, company financial viability, client base, technology and price. “I’m certainly not surprised that Practice Partner has again earned top rankings. Our own practice has seen firsthand the impact Practice Partner Patient Records® can have on both quality and productivity,” said Dr. Michael Hennigan, M.D., FACP, internist and founder of Decatur Internal Medicine Associates, a practice in Decatur, Ala., that serves the community's high-risk cardiac and diabetic patients. Since implementing Patient Records, Decatur Internal Medicine has realized a per physician gain in productivity of 50 percent. Additionally, quality improvements include better disease management for the practice’s diabetic patients: 90 percent of the practice’s diabetic patients have an HgA1c value below 7, and the HgA1c mean for the practice is 6.4 for a diabetic population of 1,000 patients, while the state average is 9. “The AC Group report provides a comprehensive view of an end-user’s ability to benefit from an application,” said Tom Leonard, McKesson’s senior vice president of Ambulatory Solutions. “The consistently high rankings of Practice Partner software are a reflection of our commitment to developing products that best serve the continuously evolving needs of physician practices.” About McKesson Corporation McKesson Corporation, currently ranked 18th on the FORTUNE 500, is a healthcare services and information technology company dedicated to helping its customers deliver high-quality healthcare by reducing costs, streamlining processes, and improving the quality and safety of patient care.
