Maryland Oncology Hematology expands services in northwestern Maryland with addition of two board-certified physicians and two locations

Maryland Oncology Hematology, P.A. (MOH) announced today that through the addition of two locations and two board-certified physicians, it is expanding the suite of oncology services it provides.

Columbia, Md. (July 25, 2011) — Maryland Oncology Hematology, P.A. (MOH), an affiliate of The US Oncology Network, announced today that through the addition of two locations and two board-certified physicians, it is expanding the suite of oncology services it provides. The oncology practice has now expanded from 11 physicians to 13 and from four locations to six.

"The addition of more locations and two highly-qualified oncologists to our practice allows us to care for cancer patients throughout the state of Maryland and parts of Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.," said Nicholas Koutrelakos, M.D., hematologist and oncologist, MOH. "Being able to give more patients access to integrated, evidence-based cancer care and clinical research is extremely important to us at Maryland Oncology Hematology."

Maryland Oncology Hematology welcomes Drs. Robert Rice and Mohit Narang. They will work alongside other board-certified physicians to treat patients in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and in Owings Mills, Columbia, Greenbelt, Laurel, and Silver Spring, Maryland.

Dr. Rice received his Medical Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland and then completed a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. In addition to being published several times, Dr. Rice was the recipient of multiple awards including the American Associates of Cancer Research Young Investigator Award.

Dr. Narang completed his Hematology/Oncology fellowship at Michigan State University in Lansing, MI. He received his M.B., B.S. at Dayanand Medical College in Ludhiana, India and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. As an active participant in the medical community, Dr. Narang has served as a primary investigator and research assistant on many trials.
