Stanton McComb is the president of McKesson Medical-Surgical, a Richmond, Virginia-based business unit that delivers a comprehensive offering of medical-surgical supplies, pharmaceuticals, equipment and technology to alternate healthcare settings – such as physician offices, surgery centers, skilled nursing facilities, home care agencies, retail clinics, urgent care centers and a variety of other alternate or non-hospital settings.
McComb has been with McKesson since 2002 when he joined as a Director of Business Development and Strategy. He went on to become the President of McKesson Pharmacy Systems & Automation, a software business focused on developing software and services for retail pharmacies. McComb played a key role in the successful acquisition and integration of Per-Se, a provider of financial and management software to the medical industry, which also catapulted McKesson Pharmacy Systems into a leadership position in that domain.
Prior to McKesson, McComb made and managed venture capital investments for Citigroup. In that role, he acted as the CEO to Medlogic Global Corporation, a medical-surgical products company owned by Citigroup. Earlier in his career, he worked at the Health Care Advisory Board and, prior to that, served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Mauritania, located in northwestern Africa. McComb earned a bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and a MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He and his family live in Richmond, Virginia.
