Since 2011, Stanton McComb has served as the President of McKesson Medical-Surgical, a Richmond, Virginia-based subsidiary of McKesson Corporation (NYSE: MCK). McKesson Medical-Surgical sells and distributes a comprehensive offering of medical-surgical supplies, pharmaceuticals, equipment and laboratory solutions to alternate healthcare settings in the U.S. These settings include physician offices, surgery centers, skilled nursing facilities, home care agencies, retail clinics, urgent care centers, government agencies and a variety of other health care sites outside of the hospital. Today, McKesson Medical-Surgical’s 8,000+ employees provide industry leading distribution and services to its more than 250,000 customers while maintaining leading positions in virtually all its market segments.
Stanton has been with McKesson since 2002 when he joined as a director of business development and strategy. He went on to become the president of McKesson Pharmacy Systems & Automation, a business focused on developing software and services for retail pharmacies. He also served as the president of McKesson Automation which developed robotic pharmaceutical dispensing solutions for hospitals.
Stanton is currently a member of McKesson Corporation’s Executive Operating Team and serves on its Global Sourcing, Venture Fund and European Management boards of directors. Stanton is also an active supporter of the company’s employee resource groups (ERG), currently serving as the executive sponsor of the Pan-Asian ERG.
Prior to McKesson, Stanton made and managed venture capital investments in the healthcare sector for Citigroup. In that role, he acted as the CEO to Medlogic Global, a medical-surgical products company. Earlier in his career, he worked at the Health Care Advisory Board in Washington, D.C. and, prior to that, served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, in northwestern Africa. Stanton earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Business from Villanova University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Stanton and his wife, Molly, live in Richmond, Virginia, with their four children.
