Nancy Avila is Executive Vice President and Chief Information and Technology Officer for McKesson Corporation. As a member of the Executive Operating Team, Nancy leads McKesson’s technology initiatives, cybersecurity and guides the company’s overall technology strategy.
Nancy joined McKesson in 2020. Prior to McKesson, Nancy was Chief Information Officer at Johnson Controls, where she was responsible for information technology, cybersecurity and analytics. She also held roles with increasing responsibility during her 22-year career at Abbott, where she served as their VP and CIO of Global Business Services.
Nancy is devoted to making an impact in the community. She serves on Comerica's Board of Directors, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin board, Dallas Regional Chamber (DRC) board, the World Economic Forum Governance on Digital Trust, and the Dallas Mavericks Advisory Council. Among her many achievements, The Greater Milwaukee Women’s Fund named Nancy as a 2019 Futurist Leader for her strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. In 2022, she was recognized for the third consecutive year by Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC) as one of the top 100 most influential Hispanic leaders in technology and D (Dallas) Magazine named her CIO/CTO of the year. Nancy is also the National Executive Sponsor for McKesson’s Women Empowered (WE) Employee Resource Group.
Nancy holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Information Systems from Regis University and a master’s degree in Mathematics from the Colorado School of Mines.
