    More than 60 customers attended the 2021 Onmark Infusion Practice Summit, representing neurology, rheumatology, and gastroenterology practices. Customers gathered virtually for the two-day event through a series of sessions to share best practices and better understand how McKesson can help their specialty practice thrive in the community-based care setting. Engaging, interactive sessions provided a space where customers learned from each other to develop best practices.

Helping You Clear the Path

The third annual Infusion Practice Summit kicked off with Heather Morel, Ph.D., McKesson’s President of Provider Solutions. Heather delivered opening remarks to McKesson’s customers comprising of specialty providers, practice administrators, and practice leaders – and expressed the reason behind the annual Summit as the event is designed and inspired by, and for, customers to address the challenges practices face in navigating patient care in this complex and ever-changing healthcare landscape. Heather expressed, “We know that change happens … we’re here to listen and propose solutions to work with you to bring positive change to your practice, to focus on the things that you do best which is creating a positive patient experience and delivering patient care.”

The Payer-Provider Relationship

As home infusion, and white and brown bagging become more prevalent with payers, building a compelling value proposition to support a practice’s position for in-office infusion is more important than ever. In this session, the audience received an inside perspective of the advantages in forming a value proposition for their practices and why a solid a value prop is an important tactic for a strong and viable payer-provider relationship strategy.

Onmark® GPO

The mission of the Onmark GPO is to ensure that members experience the best economic value and differentiated services. In this session, the GPO team discussed innovative approaches to contract negotiations and their strategy for navigating drug pricing challenges. The engaging session included a comprehensive overview of a four-phase approach to practice management success through scale, alignment, engagement, and execution.

Public Policy Update

Ben Jones, Vice President of Government Relations and Public Policy, presented one of the most anticipated sessions of the Summit, as he gave an overview of the current public policy landscape. Fresh from The Hill, Ben provided a first-hand account and insight of the latest Congress discussions on the infrastructure bill and the impacts of healthcare policy and spending in relation to specialty care and providers.

Adopting Biosimilars

In this session, the audience came away with an understanding of the tools needed to build and design a model for a successful education - and adoption - biosimilar strategy across all areas and functions of a specialty practice. The session gave an inside overview of ways to improve confidence in biosimilars—methods that can lead to increased usage, resulting in significant savings for practices and across the entire healthcare system.
