McKesson recently redesigned its San Francisco Vision Center. Part product showcase, part meeting space, the venue brings visitors through real-life settings that represent the entire healthcare ecosystem and serves as a way to facilitate conversations about important health topics such as patient-centered care and interoperability.

Here is a look inside the space.

The space breaks down a huge and complex industry into smaller pieces that customers can relate to, and shows the role that technology plays in each segment.

Most importantly, the space shows how the patient touch-points are all interrelated, highlighting the need for provider, payer, and pharmacy data sharing to support better health outcomes.

“The 2014 makeover of the Vision Center was important,” explains Tracy Weber, senior manager, Vision Center, “to reflect some of the significant changes that have occurred both in health care and within McKesson since it was last remodeled in 2008.”

In the year since it reopened, the Vision Center has hosted more than 250 tours for 2,000 customers, government officials, manufacturer partners, employees and members of the media.

Available meeting and event facilities include two boardroom-style conference rooms, a theater-style presentation room, open reception areas and town hall classroom-style seating for groups up to 70 people. Audiovisual capabilities in all rooms include telepresence video conferencing plus built in projector, audio conferencing system, music system and microphones.

The Vision Center is located at 1 Post Street in downtown San Francisco. The hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays or by appointment. The space is available for use by customers, user-groups, and industry groups.
