McKesson Commits $100,000 to the American Red Cross to Support California Wildfire Victims

SAN FRANCISCO, October 13, 2017 — To help those affected by the wildfire raging through California, McKesson Corporation today announced a commitment to donate $100,000 to the American Red Cross as the organization supports wildfire relief efforts.

"It is heartbreaking to see the devastation caused by these fires," said McKesson CEO John Hammergren. "The wildfires are in the backyard of our company's headquarters and impacting thousands, including our customers and employees."

Other ways that McKesson is supporting wildfire relief efforts include:

  • Donated general support supplies to the Yountville Veterans Home, a state-run facility serving aged and disabled Veterans.
  • Donated more than 800 face masks to Sonoma County Sheriff's Department to help protect first responders from unhealthy air conditions.
  • McKesson is also matching donations made by its employees through the company's donation matching program, with no maximum on the donation amount that will be matched.
