From February 9–11, the 340B Coalition Winter Conference convened in San Diego, bringing together over 1,600 stakeholders from across the healthcare landscape. As a premier event for the 340B community, it remains a critical forum for covered entities and industry leaders to discuss the ongoing mission of supporting the healthcare safety net.
Representing our Professional & Advisory Services team, Heather Easterling and Felicia Boodram joined our Macro Helix colleagues on-site to connect with pharmacy leaders and executives from across our health system customer base. Together, we focused on providing the strategic guidance necessary to manage 340B as an essential, system-wide priority. These discussions centered on ensuring our customers have the insights and strategies needed to maintain program integrity, address complex regulatory shifts, and navigate operational challenges—all while expanding critical patient care.
Key Takeaways
Our extensive engagement with health system leaders in San Diego provided critical market insights into the current 340B landscape:
- High Demand for Regulatory Navigation Tools: Health systems are increasingly seeking advanced analytics, such as our new IRA filters, to help them identify and capture opportunities within the evolving 340B regulatory environment.
- Critical Importance of Direct Engagement: The conference served as a vital venue for face-to-face collaboration, providing health system leaders with the necessary space to share candid feedback and align our joint McKesson and Macro Helix solutions with their long-term goals.
- Collaborative Focus on Data Integrity: Pharmacy leaders emphasized the importance of accurate pricing data and expressed a desire for more streamlined, industry-wide processes to ensure data consistency and reduce the administrative burden on health system compliance teams.
The conference underscored the importance of a coordinated, proactive approach to program management to ensure health systems can continue to meet the needs of their patients and communities in an evolving healthcare environment.
