According to a nationwide analysis in the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association, approximately 88.9% of the U.S. population live within five miles of a pharmacy, highlighting their accessibility in the communities they serve.

Pharmacists across care settings also play a vital role in healthcare and work hard to build patient trust. Their roles go beyond filling prescriptions – they support medication adherence, patient safety, clinical interventions, care coordination, financial advisory, business acumen and advancing health equity. Despite the increasing demands on pharmacists today, pharmacists consistently rise to the occasion.

At McKesson, we're steadfast in our dedication to providing pharmacists with tools and resources to help them succeed in multiple care environments. We value their essential work in the communities they serve and strive to amplify their efforts, from establishing pharmacies in underserved areas to providing pharmacy access in federally qualified health centers to investing in the future of pharmacy. We advocate for key legislation that bolsters the practice of pharmacy and offer services and solutions that help pharmacists manage their businesses efficiently, allowing them to focus on what truly matters—patient care.

During American Pharmacists Month, please join us in recognizing the invaluable contributions of pharmacists across multiple specialties and care settings and their impact on the patients and communities they serve. Learn more in the video above and share in our appreciation for these dedicated professionals.
