Key Points

  • McKesson Amplify is a strategic initiative announced in 2024 to strengthen independent community pharmacies by empowering state pharmacy associations.
  • Funding supports advocacy, education and outreach and is awarded through a robust, merit-based application process.
  • In 2025, funding empowered recipients to advance local advocacy initiatives, host annual meeting and legislative events, provide training, grow membership and modernize their digital infrastructure.
  • Specific successes from the inaugural year included advocacy leadership training for over 350 students in California, a major rebranding effort in Montana to boost membership engagement, and multiple efforts to advance patient care access for local communities.
  • As we move into the second year of providing dedicated funding through McKesson Amplify, our investment in the state associations and the members they serve is unwavering.

Blue-green graphic with flowing wave lines and the word “AMPLIFY,” plus the tagline “Patient First. Pharmacy Forward.”McKesson Amplify began with one powerful idea: when independent community pharmacies thrive, patients win. By investing in state pharmacy associations and expanding their advocacy and impact, we’re driving meaningful change — reinforcing pharmacy — provided patient care, supporting innovation and uplifting the communities that depend on these local health heroes.

Through McKesson Amplify, a first-of-its-kind strategic initiative, we support state pharmacy associations in their efforts to strengthen independent pharmacies and enable pharmacists to continue providing vital care in their communities.

In 2025, funding from the program contributed to:

  • Advocacy and Lobbying: State pharmacy associations advocated for legislation to bolster the pharmacy profession through meetings with key legislators and regulatory bodies.
  • Events: State associations worked to promote the essential role of pharmacies and pharmacists through annual meetings, trade shows, networking events and town hall meetings.
  • Training and Education: Pharmacists and their teams were empowered with professional development opportunities, training and workshops. Over 350 students engaged in advocacy leadership training and education with the California Pharmacists Association.
  • Membership Drives: Associations focused on retaining and engaging existing members, as well as recruiting new members through targeted campaigns and recruitment events.
  • Communications, Technology and Digital Platforms: State pharmacy associations upgraded digital infrastructure to support their advocacy efforts now and in the future. The Montana Pharmacy Association completed a rebranding effort to support their outreach and develop a more engaged membership base.

“McKesson Amplify is more than a funding initiative —it is a catalyst for change, supporting the vital work that state pharmacy associations do to champion independent community pharmacies, pharmacists, owners and their teams. When independent pharmacies thrive, patients win,” said Jeanine Singer, Senior Vice President, National and Key Accounts & Field Sales, McKesson.  “As we move into another year of this powerful program, we’ve seen exciting plans in the applications submitted by the state associations, and we’re thrilled to support the ongoing momentum.”

McKesson Amplify awards funding in accordance with a robust, merit-based application process through which state pharmacy associations share their detailed activation plans and advocacy goals that allow pharmacists to operate at the top of their license. Every eligible state association who applied and met application deadlines and program qualifications for 2025 and 2026 received funding. In 2026, these state associations across the country are continuing their efforts in critical areas to advance the practice of pharmacy and ensure that community pharmacies can continue providing vital care to patients.

We have a longstanding history as an essential advocate and partner for community pharmacies in sustaining, growing and improving their business’ economic health and efficiency. McKesson Amplify represents our unwavering commitment to supporting independent community pharmacists, pharmacy owners and their teams through advocacy.
