Dr. Arti A. Lakhani joins the ICS Hinsdale office, seeing newly diagnosed patients within 24 hours
Hinsdale, Ill. (January 28, 2014) — Illinois Cancer
Specialists (ICS), united in healing

announce the addition of medical oncologist Arti A. Lakhani, M.D., to better serve newly diagnosed cancer
patients. Dr. Lakhani, a Hinsdale
native, is currently available to see new patients at the ICS Hinsdale
treatment center within 24 hours of diagnosis.

immediate access to care from a highly-trained medical oncologist is critical
for newly diagnosed patients who are often distressed over their condition,”
said Donald Sweet, M.D., F.A.C.P., hematologist and medical
oncologist with the Illinois Cancer Specialists Hinsdale facility. “Newly

will be a long-term member of their care team. With the arrival of Dr. Lakhani,

A graduate of Rush
University Medical School, Dr. Lakhani also completed her Internship and
Residency at Rush, which is ranked among the top academic medical centers in
the nation. She attended Loyola University Medical Center/Hines VA Medical
Center, where she completed a fellowship in medical oncology and hematology.
Throughout her career, Dr. Lakhani has published numerous articles in the
fields of hematology and medical oncology, and she is a member of the American
Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. As a
highly-trained medical oncologist, she is experienced in diagnosing, assessing
and treating patients with a variety of malignancies and benign hematologic
disorders.
Dr. Lakhani grew up
in Hinsdale and is excited to return to her hometown. “It is wonderful to be
