McKesson Named One of the Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion

July 16, 2020

Earned a top score for the second year in a row

IRVING, Texas, July 16, 2020—McKesson today announced that The Disability Equality Index (DEI) has named the company as one of its 2020 Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion with a top-ranking score of 100. This is the fifth year in a row that McKesson has been recognized by the DEI as a top place to work and the second year in a row earning a top score.

“We are pleased to once again be recognized by The Disability Equality Index as one of the best places to work for disability inclusion,” said Brian Tyler, chief executive officer, McKesson. “McKesson is deeply committed to supporting a culture where people feel comfortable bringing their authentic selves to work. Our ability to celebrate and support our differences as individuals will make us a better company in terms of serving our customers, our communities and our employees.”

The DEI is based on an annual survey that measures an organization’s adoption of inclusive policies and practices for people with disabilities. The index has become a nationally recognized benchmarking report for businesses to gauge their level of workplace inclusion. To earn a score of 100%, companies must display best-in-class commitments to culture and leadership, accessibility, employment practices, community engagement and supplier diversity.

In recognizing McKesson, DEI acknowledged the company’s commitment to inclusion in areas such as community engagement; employee practices such as benefits, training and advancement; culture and leadership; supplier diversity and enterprise access.

“McKesson is working to continually improve our support of employees with disabilities, their allies and caregivers,” said Traci Dunn, vice president, Inclusion, Diversity and Corporate Impact, McKesson. “This recognition is a tribute to all of our employees who have contributed to building an inclusive environment for all of our colleagues, including those with disabilities.”

McKesson has also been named a “Military Friendly Employer” by GI Jobs for the last five years and recognized as a “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality” by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation for the last six years.
