Mr. Hinton currently serves as an operating partner for the private equity firm Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe. From 2017 through 2021, he served as the chief executive officer of Baylor Scott & White Health, the largest not-for-profit health system in Texas and one of the largest in the U.S. Mr. Hinton joined Presbyterian Healthcare Services, New Mexico’s largest not-for-profit healthcare provider, in 1983 and he served as their chief executive officer from 1995 to 2016. During that time, he was a member of the American Hospital Association Board of Trustees and served as its Chair in 2014. He currently serves as a director of AMN Healthcare. Mr. Hinton holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Arizona State University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of New Mexico.
