How to Apply

McKesson is dedicated to fulfilling our purpose and supporting our communities. Before applying, applicants should check that the request falls within our stated charitable anchors.

Charitable entities are encouraged to submit requests through our application process.

    • Summary of any sponsorship benefits received (if applicable)
    • Fair market value of any benefits received (if applicable) (e.g.; value of event tickets, t-shirts, food or beverages provided, etc.)

Required Documents

Applicants will need:

  • Donation or sponsorship request letter (on letterhead and signed)
  • Signed W9
  • Most recently filed Form 990
  • Flyer or other materials related to the event or request (if applicable)

Eligibility

Only U.S. based organizations with an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status are eligible for funding.

Funding Types

  • Cash contributions (e.g. non-restricted funds that organizations can use at their discretion)
  • Sponsorship of charitable events (e.g., dinners, galas, walks, patient education events) if the value of benefits received (e.g., tickets to event) are less than the total donation amount
  • Grants (e.g., educational grant, research grant)
  • Other in-kind donations (e.g., office supplies, furniture, use of office space)

Exclusions

The following types of requests are not considered through our program:

  • Contributions to 501(c)(6) organizations
  • Sponsorships of commercial/promotional events with no charitable component (e.g., trade shows, intended beneficiary is not a 501(c)(3)
  • McKesson products (McKesson has established product partnerships for product donations)
  • Request only for volunteer hours by McKesson employees
  • Purchases of good or services from a charitable organization (e.g., first aid training)
Review Process and Timeline

Submission Notice: Submission of request does not guarantee support.

Decision Notice: Written notification of our decision will be provided.

Review Timeline: It may take up to 90 days for applicant requests to be reviewed and decisioned. Please submit requests well before the event date; McKesson will not fund requests after the event date has passed.

After submitting the request, applicants can check the status of their application by navigating to the Zengine portal. Upon completion of the review, applicants will receive an email with a final decision.
