This Privacy Notice describes how McKesson collects and uses personal information about you when you use the PharmacyRx SaaS application as well as your choices about how personal information will be used. By using PharmacyRx, you accept the privacy practices contained in this Privacy Notice. We encourage you to read this Privacy Notice in full to understand our privacy practices before using PharmacyRx or submitting any personal information.
Scope
This Privacy Notice applies only to the PharmacyRx application. McKesson affiliates and subsidiaries may have other applications and are not subject to this Privacy Notice. Additionally, McKesson business partners have their applications with separate privacy practices. We encourage you to read the privacy notices of all applications you visit to understand their privacy practices and your options.
Personal Information We Collect
When you use our application, we may collect the following personal information about you:
- Unique identifiers such as your username and password
- Contact information such as your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address
How We Use the Personal Information Collected
We may use the information collected for the following purposes:
- To authenticate you for access to the application
- Your contact information may be displayed in the application for reference by your institution
How We Share Personal Information Collected
McKesson does not sell personal information about you to third parties.
We may disclose personal information about users of this application:
- As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or other legal process
- When we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or property, protect your health and safety or the health and safety of others, investigate fraud or respond to a government request
- If McKesson is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on this application of any change in ownership or uses of personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding personal information about you
- To any other third party with your prior consent to do so
Your Choice
Where appropriate or legally required, we will describe how information about you that we collect through this application will be used and will provide choices about whether or not to allow us to engage in that use. To exercise your choice, you may discontinue information collection by deleting your user information on the application or by discontinuing accessing the application altogether.
If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter related to the application, we will use your name and email address to send the newsletter to you. You may choose to stop receiving our newsletter or marketing emails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in these emails.
Access to Personal Information
This application allows you to directly view, edit and delete information about you through your profile settings.
We will retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as reasonably useful for commercial purposes. We will retain and use your personal information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
Health Information
As a key provider of services and technology to the healthcare industry, McKesson has implemented programs to address the privacy and security rules required by HIPAA and HITECH. Patient health information transmitted through this application is controlled by your institution and maintained by McKesson.
Children’s Privacy
This application is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.
How We Protect Your Information
McKesson has established appropriate physical, electronic and administrative safeguards to protect the information we collect from or about our users. We restrict access to personal information to McKesson employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to process it for us, and who are subject to confidentiality obligations.
Any sensitive personal information will be transmitted in an encrypted form using SSL encryption. Notwithstanding our security safeguards, it is impossible to guarantee 100% security in all circumstances. If you have any questions about security or have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure (for example, you feel that the security of any account you might have with us has been compromised), you must immediately notify us of the problem by contacting McKesson at Privacy@McKesson.com.
Changes to this Privacy Notice
We may periodically update this Privacy Notice to describe new application features or services we offer and how it may affect our use of personal information about you and your controls. Since we may change this Privacy Notice, we recommend that you check the current version available from time to time. If we make changes to this notice, we will update the “Effective Date” at the beginning of this notice.
